Today my kids had another fun day running around in the mud. First they tiptoe around the edges, carefully. Then they're splashing through it. Then they're standing in the middle of it grabbing chunks with their hands and throwing it at whatever is nearby (usually each other). Then, they're in trouble, which is why you need to be nearby, because you'll hear this quiet little "help" at first
. They've been standing still for long enough that they're feet are stuck and you've got to go pull them out. Then they're back to running around, and pretty soon one of them slips and falls down. Then they're just sitting in the mud, splashing and playing.
This drives my wife crazy, as she has to clean them up at some point; but I think its great. I live vicariously through my kids.
